Network allows Indiana parents to see child's test answers

INDIANAPOLIS — Parents who don't understand their child's scores on state exams can go online to see those scores and their child's actual answers to essay and open-ended questions.

The Indiana Department of Education says the secure ISTEP+ Parent Network can show parents where their children are struggling and help find resources to improve.

Parents get login information from their children's schools. The Indiana Department of Education says more than 30,000 parents and guardians logged into the site in the first week after ISTEP scores became available in September.

State schools chief Tony Bennett says parental involvement is critical to student success. He wants all parents to log on to the site, which was first used last year.
