Arts Council Bal Masque Gala happening Saturday

the Arts Council of Southern Indiana will host a Bal Masque Gala from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Oct., 20, at the Masonic Lodge, 805 E. Market St., New Albany.

Advance tickets are $50 for an individual or $80 a couple. The day of the event, the cost is $60 and $90, respectively.

There will be plenty of fall treats and a cash bar.

Opening music by folk/alternative rock band Field of Kings beginning at 8 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m., the Horizontal Boogie Band takes the stage.

Costumes are optional. You must be 21 to attend. Proceeds from this event benefit arts programs and events in the southern Indiana area.

Motorcycle ride to promote health

The Floyd Memorial Foundation will host the third-annual Highway to Health Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The 100-mile ride through Southern Indiana will start at  the Floyd Memorial Cancer Center of Indiana along Green Valley Road and make stops al Floyd Memorial sites in Corydon, Salem and Charlestown.

The event begins at 10 a.m. with registration and breakfast. The ride will depart at 11 a.m. The cost is $20 per rider or $30 for rider plus a passenger. Waivers and payment will be accepted the morning of the event. After riders return there will be lunch provided by Chick-fil-A and entertainment provided by the KUKES.

GEORGETOWN

Drive-In of Terrors this weekend

The Georgetown Drive-In will be transformed into the Drive-In of Terror Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20.

Ride in one of the fright filled vehicles to reach the drive-in of terror then walk the remains of the haunted drive-in. The cost is $15 which includes a double feature movie and the haunt, which is for the entire family.

There will also be a Midway of Terror and carnival games.



Fall craft bazaar set for Saturday

Blue River Services Inc.’s Georgetown Rainbow’s End Childcare Center, 1099 Marci Lane, Georgetown, is hosting a fall craft bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.

Booths are available for rent at $25 each. There will be hands-on activities for kids and adults.

JEFFERSONVILLE

First ‘Think Local’ festival on its way

The inaugural Think Local Fall Festival is looking for businesses and charities that are interested in participating in the event.

The festival, being hosted by Mike and Matt’s Restaurant on Holmans Lane in Jeffersonville, will be held Oct. 27 and booth rental is free for local businesses. Organizers are requesting that participants bring candy or treat bags for a trunk or treat planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations for prizes for planned contests are also being requested.

The festival will feature live entertainment, a costume contest for kids and dogs along with a balloon twister and face painter.
