Ghostly events on tap at Culbertson
Culbertson Mansion is again sponsoring Literally A Haunted House, which offers guests a tour of the mansion’s haunted carriage house for $13 each.
Dates Oct. 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27. Tours start at 7 p.m. No closing time is advertised. Kids have a slightly less scary tour option Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 when they can enjoy Halloween storytelling in the mansion at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 p.m. Admission is $1 per child and $2 per adult.
Also, the Museum’s Halloween tea will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 14. Cost is $15 per adult and $8 per child age 3-8. Children under 3 are free. Reservations are required. The event is a proper Victorian tea with the “Queen of Halloween.” Costumes are encouraged.
Job fair slated for IUS
The Indiana University Southeast Career Development Center is sponsoring a job fair from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Hoosier Room, 4201 Grant Line Road.
The event is free and an opportunity to network with local companies. Professional dress is suggested and those attending are asked to bring multiple copies of a resume.

Fulton to speak at Lunch & Learn
From noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Carnegie Center for Art and History, Christopher Fulton, associate professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Louisville, will present the program “Portraits of the Nation and Individual in Modern Mexican Art.”
Fulton’s lecture takes an incisive look at portraits of individual subjects and portraits of the Mexican nation and capital city. He will start with some observations on the revolutionary period, before 1950, with reference to artists such as Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, and then investigate more modern representations that exist in tension with the ideals of the nation and of Mexicanness as propagated by government and its affiliated institutions.
Participants can bring a lunch, drinks are provided. This program is free, but registration is required by calling 812-944-7336.
Aglow group to meet
An Aglow meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Covenant Community Fellowship, 727 Rolling Creek Drive, New Albany.
Fellowship is 6:30 to 7 p.m. with the meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Speaker will be Donna McClanahan, vice-president of Financial Development at Lighthouse Aglow, Corydon.

Meeting event for GOP candidates

Walk to combat addiction coming up
Grassroots Prevention Coalition of Clark County is sponsoring a tragedy triumph overcoming addiction walk from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 20 at Perrin Park, Perrin Lane, Jeffersonville.

Hamburg Church of Christ, 8921 Newberry Road, Sellersburg, is sponsoring a “Homecoming and Homegoing” series with evangelist Paul Kitzmiller, the director of Goin Fishing Missions.
A pitch-in dinner Sunday will follow the 10:30 a.m. morning service and a report of mission efforts to Ukraine will be given on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday services will be at 7 p.m.

Health Ministry team at Catholic Community of Jeffersonville is sponsoring a Smoking Cessation Seminar at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Augustine’s Parish Hall, 315 Chestnut St., Jeffersonville.
Annie Reiss from Clark County Tobacco Coalition will speak about the free programs offered by the state of Indiana to help smokers quit. The public is welcome.

POLICE: New Albany mother killed two children, then herself
New Albany Police Chief Sherri Knight said severe mental illness is what led to New Albany resident Jaime Clutter to drown her two children, then herself, in Falling Run Creek on March 13. The bodies were found where the creek runs through Binford Park.
