Former corrections officer sentenced in rape case

Victims reportedly left Fourth Street Live with three men

CLARK COUNTY — A former Clark County Community Corrections officer was sentenced on Monday to four years in prison and five years of probation after pleading guilty to raping a college student he met at Fourth Street Live in Louisville in September 2008.

Walker Adonis, originally booked into jail as Adonis Walker, pleaded guilty to class B felony rape in March.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Adonis and 20-year-old Johnny Colastin met two college girls at the downtown Louisville entertainment complex and offered to take them home, along with another man.

Court records state that they instead stopped at the 800 block of East Chestnut Street in Jeffersonville, and one man forced one of the women inside an apartment while the other man forced one of the women back into the car and drove off.

The other man who had been with the women that night fled the scene and called 911. The two victims were later located by police in the 2000 block of Paddlewheel Drive, and both said they were intoxicated and could not remember what happened.

Adonis reportedly admitted having sex with one victim as she was asleep, and a forensic nurse determined both girls had injuries consistent with forced intercourse.

Adonis was permitted to serve the remaining portion of his prison sentence on work release. His attorney, Amber Shaw, declined to comment, as she had not been given permission by her client to speak to the media.

Colastin pleaded guilty in December of 2008 to class D felony sexual battery and was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
