CORYDON —
A Corydon man is in Harrison County jail after a short pursuit by the Indiana State Police.
George L. Kintner, 47, was arrested for resisting law enforcement, a class D felony, and class A misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.
Just after 3 a.m. today [Friday], an ISP trooper attempted to stop a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Kintner on Gardner Lane in Corydon for a traffic violation.
The driver sped up and turned out its headlights in an attempt to evade the pursuing trooper, according to an ISP press release.
The Ford Ranger then entered into an auto sales dealership on Gardner Lane and was traveling in between the rows of cars on the lot. The Ford Ranger exited the car lot back on to Gardner Lane, traveled a few hundred feet, and then left the roadway into a field, traveling a few more hundred feet before the driver fled the vehicle on foot.
Kintner was then captured and arrested. He is incarcerated in the Harrison County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
No one was injured and there were no vehicles damaged during the pursuit, the release says.
