NEW ALBANY —
Three men were arrested on felonious drug charges after police executed a search warrant at their New Albany home Thursday
Adam Laron Rodriguez, 23, Alonzo Thompson, 20, and Beau’Dean Pasco, 29, were in their home at 70 High Park Dr. in New Albany when the search warrant was conducted by New Albany police and its SWAT Team.
Officers went to the home near Sam Peden Community Park about 4:15 a.m.
According to the probable cause affidavit, as officers entered the home, Rodriguez was sleeping in a bedroom where a glass smoking pipe and a plastic bag containing three grams of marijuana were located. Rodriguez told officers the items were his.
Police also found a blue, oblong pill on a dresser in the bedroom. Thompson said the items belonged to him.
“The pill was on a small mirror that had white residue on it and a small-cut straw commonly used to ingest crushed pills,” an officer noted in the police report.
The pill was later identified as Lortab, a controlled substance, police reported.
Thompson told police he would snort the pills, according to the report, and that he had been prescribed Lortab in the last month, but was not able to produce a prescription.
Officers located 25 grams of marijuana in the pocket of a camouflage coat found in a dining room closet. Pasco told police the marijuana belonged to him and that he used to sell up to 18 pounds of marijuana a week, but stopped selling years ago. Pasco also told officers that he now purchases about a quarter of a pound of marijuana a week and only sells to close friends and family members.
“He also stated that if we [police] would have waited to serve the search warrant on Friday, we would have found a lot more,” according to statements Pasco made to police.
Rodriguez was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony and possession of marijuana — grow or cultivate and possession of paraphernalia, both class A misdemeanors.
Thompson has been charged with maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a controlled substance, both class D felonies
Pasco was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, and dealing in marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.
According to court records, Pasco is scheduled for a review hearing in Floyd County Superior Court No. 3 Feb. 14. Court records had not been updated of upcoming court hearings for Thompson and Rodriguez as of press time.
