FORT WAYNE —
The South All-Stars took two games out of three from the North on Saturday and Sunday at the North-South All-Star game in Fort Wayne.
In Game 1 on Saturday, the South All-Stars coasted to a 10-3 victory. The South All-Sars scored four runs in the second inning and played add-on for five more in the third through fifth.
South beat North by an even more lopsided result in Game 2, winning 14-3. Jeffersonville’s Jeremy Eger and Silver Creek’s Kyle Briner both played in the game.
In three plate appearance, Eger went 1-for-2 with a single and reached again when he was hit by a pitch. Eger scored two runs for the South All-Stars. Briner hit a triple in his only time up.
Briner pitched three innings of relief for South, going three innings and allowing just one run on four hits with a walk. Briner struck out three batters and threw 19 of his 23 pitches for strikes.
North finally took a game on Sunday with a 7-3 victory. Eger did not play, while Briner went 0-for-1 at the plate.

The Floyd Central varsity golf team put up a team score of 323 to place fourth at the Lafayette Jeff Invitational on Saturday. Meanwhile, Floyd Central was third and Providence seventh at the Legends of Providence Invite at Champions Pointe.
