NEW ALBANY —
Indiana University Southeast sophomore Heather Wheat was named the KIAC women’s basketball Player of the Week by KIAC officials on Sunday, Dec. 23.
Wheat averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. She began the week with 33 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in a 93-83 loss to St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday. On Saturday, scored 14 points and had two assists and four steals in a 76-60 win against Cincinnati-Clermont.
Wheat currently ranks 12th in NAIA Division II in points per game (19.1) and is No. 14 in assists (4.8).
Indiana University Southeast is 7-6. The Grenadiers will return to action on Dec. 29 when they travel to Point Park University.
