HENRYVILLE —
Haley Huddleston and Emily Hollis scored 10 points apiece as Henryville won its seventh straight game, 44-26 over Christian Academy on Tuesday.
The win gives the Hornets a 10-6 record, clinching their seventh consecutive season of double-digit wins.
After jumping out to an 11-6 lead after one quarter, the Warriors outscored Henryville 10-9 in the second quarter to get within 20-16 at intermission.
“We didn’t play as well as we would’ve liked,” Henryville coach Josh Conrad said. “I think CAI deserves a lot of the credit for that.”
In the second half, Henryville pulled away with strong defense and transition offense. Its defense held CAI to three points in a 14-3 fourth quarter.
“In the second half, we made transition baskets and played a little better defense,” Conrad said.
The Warriors’ Nicole Kauchak led all scorers with 13 points, while Brittney Moffett added six for CAI.
The Hornets host Borden on Thursday in a Southern Athletic Conference showdown.
• Pioneers break school record with 92 points: Meredith Endris had 26 points and eight rebounds as Providence beat Rock Creek Academy 92-22 on Tuesday.
The 92 points broke the school record of 90 points set in the 2002-03 season. The ’02-’03 team was the last to earn a winning record. At 9-7, the 2012-13 Pioneers are drawing closer to doing the same.
“The kids executed very well,” Providence coach Brad Burden said. “To execute like that in the halfcourt was tremendous.”
Marlee Karem added 20 points, Taylor Smallwood 16 and Nichole Tucker 14 for the Pioneers, who led 20-8 after one quarter, 45-15 at the half and 68-18 after three quarters.
Holly Whitworth and Christi Scholl led the Lions with six points apiece. Tabitha Tomaskevitch finished with five.
NEXT: Rock Creek (0-15) at Cannelton, Friday; Providence (9-7) at Austin, Friday.
• Jeff falls at Seymour: Seymour jumped out to a 16-8 lead over visiting Jeffersonville and held off the Devils for a 51-47 Hoosier Hills Conference victory on Tuesday.

Logan Personett and Taylor Gossett scored 12 apiece to pace the Owls.
NEXT: Jeffersonville (6-11, 2-4 HHC) hosts New Albany (8-8, 3-2), Friday.
