The New Albany Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that was reported at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Dewey Street on Tuesday.
Four people said they were inside an apartment at about 1:20 p.m. when one of them answered a knock at the front door, according to an NAPD news release. When the door opened, a man armed with a handgun reportedly demanded money from them. The alleged robber reportedly left after the victims complied with the request. No injuries were reported.
A second suspect reportedly waited in the hallway outside the apartment. A third person was seen waiting outside the apartment building in a teal 1990s model Nissan Altima.
The three men left in the vehicle heading eastbound on Dewey Street.
The gunman was described as a black male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He reportedly has light facial hair and a goatee. He was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and black tennis shoes.
The man seen in the hallway also was described as a black male in his 20s with a white T-shirt that had blue and pink artwork across the chest area. He also had light facial hair.
The getaway driver was described as a white man in his 20s.
