John ‘Jack’ Cray Morris

71; Army veteran

JEFFERSONVILLE —  

A memorial service for John “Jack” Cray Morris, 71, of Metairie, La., formerly of Jeffersonville, will be held at a later date in Jeffersonville. He died Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

He was a native of Jeffersonville and a resident of Metairie, La., for 45 years. He was a 1956 graduate of Providence High School where he was a four sport letter winner. He was a graduate of Loyola University and captain of the basketball team his senior year. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 125 and a parishioner and choir member at St. Mary Magdalen Church.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Dianna Lee Morris; his children, Mary Margaret Morris, Elizabeth Ann Nelson and her husband, Mark, and Michelle Marie Morris and her husband, Brandon Jannarone; stepchildren, Stephanie Baker and her husband, Gill, Wesley Ann Impastato and her husband, Mark, and Katherine Tubre; siblings, James Morris and his wife, JoAnn, Ann Morris and Ellen Trot; 14 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carver Fitch Morris and Catherine Horan Morris, and daughter, Theresa Davis.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Greater New Orleans Office, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, La., 70121.
