Lawrence ‘Larry’ I. Hagan

50; of Charlestown

Funeral services for Lawrence “Larry” I. Hagan, 50, of Charlestown, will be at noon Wednesday, July 28, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Jeffersonville, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked as a lab technician for Idemitsu and he loved sports and helping children. He began coaching at the age of 18 and was involved in coaching various sports over the past 30 years. The family would like to thank all of the hospital staff and Larry’s doctors for their care and compassion. The family would like to give a special thanks to their many friends, family and co-workers of Idemitsu and Samtec for their love and support. May God bless you all.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Hagan, of Charlestown; daughter, Ashley Hagan and her fiancé, David Smith, of New Albany; son, Nathan Hagan, of Charlestown; his parents, James and Iva Hagan, of Charlestown; sisters, Mary Jane Crowder and her husband, Brian, and Deborah Hagan, all of Jeffersonville; brother, John Hagan and his fiancé, Yelena, of Jeffersonville; and grandchildren, Adrie and Kaleb, both of New Albany.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Winona Fry, and Earl and Emma Jane Hagan.

Visitation will from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Jeffersonville GRC Little League, P.O. Box 699, Jeffersonville, 47131, in his memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
