A funeral Mass for Agnes Louise Kinnaird Sedwick, 82, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 315 East Chestnut St., Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. She died Friday, March 12, 2010, in Dallas, Texas.
She was born March 3, 1928 in Jeffersonville, one of 12 children to the late Henry H. Kinnaird and Naomi Welch Kinnaird. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a graduate of Taylor High School. During her employed career she worked at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown and the Jeffersonville Census Bureau, as well as a volunteer at Life Springs Mental Health Center in Jeffersonville as counselor to emotionally troubled individuals. She was a proud, compassionate and humble lady that loved life, her family, friends and loved helping those in need. She enjoyed music, cooking, shopping, gardening, comedy and staying active.
Survivors include her siblings, Thelma Elizabeth Renfroe, Veronica Mitchum and her husband, Albert, Joseph Kinnaird and his wife, Betty, and Ruth Ann Bonner; her children, Patricia Frazier, Parketta Cartwright and her husband, Kenneth, Cynthia Ajatuaewo and her husband, Jones, Pamela Sedwick and her husband, Clinton Gardner, LeRoy Sedwick Jr. and his wife, Darlene, Jacqueline Sedwick, Kevin Sedwick and his wife, Chante, and Tonya Sedwick and her husband, Jerome Stanley; her grandchildren, Chantell Frazier, Albert Frazier, Kenneth Cartwright, Jr., Andrea Cartwright, Jessica Sedwick, Charles Gardner, Camille Gardner, Olivia Sedwick, Victoria Sedwick, Cassius Stanley and Jabari Ellis; her great-grandchildren, Brandon Frazier, Kiarra Cartwright; Miles Frazier and Matthew Frazier; and her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Leroy Sedwick Sr., her daughter, Catherine Renee Sedwick, by her sisters, Catherine Kinnaird, Josephine Crenshaw, Juanita Harris, Mae Kinnaird and her brothers, James Kinnaird, John Kinnaird and Charles “Sonny” Kinnaird.
Visitation will be at Coots Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
