Donald Duncan Ruddell

80; Army veteran and founder of Gospel Tabernacle

>>SOUTHERN INDIANA — Funeral services for Donald Duncan Ruddell, 80, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with interment in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany.

He founded the Gospel Tabernacle Church in 1956 and served as its minister until his death. He also served his country in the U.S. Army until his separation in 1951.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Louise Ruddell; sons, Donald Ruddell Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of New Albany and William “Bill” Ruddell and his wife, Regina, of Westfield; daughter, Mary Lewis and her husband, John, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Ralph Ruddell, of Mission, Texas; sister, Dora Ann Hammett and her husband, Jerry, of Clarksville; five grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 8 P.M. Sunday .
