Funeral services for Jerry W. “Shag” Davis, 69, of Corydon, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Indian Creek Nursing Home in Corydon.
He was born Jan. 21, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Claude and Eva Davis. He loved motorcycles and was a dedicated servant of Alcoholics Anonymous of Kentuckiana.
Survivors include sisters, Kay Lee and her husband, Steve, and Barbara Burdsal and her husband, Les; brother, Bob Davis and his wife, Pat; and nieces and nephews, Diane Devine, Kathy Cotney, Chris Williams, Steve Williams, Eddie Hartlauf, Paul Burdsal, Robbie Davis, and David Davis.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Reggy Davis, and a sister, Claudene Hartlauf.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the family for funeral expenses.
