Funeral services for Lucille W. Wood, 96, of New Albany, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem. She died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Zionsville Meadow Nursing Home in Indianapolis.
She was born in Bennettsville, retired from Travlers and a member of Syria Christian Church in Orleans.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Newlin and her husband, Roy, of New Albany, and Janis McConnell and her husband Jack, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Betty Hedrick, of New Albany; a brother, Eugene “Pete” Broady, of Borden; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Wood; a stepson, Thomas Frank Wood; a sister, Estelle Edwards; and two brothers, Chester Broady and Harold Broady.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 9 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or to Zionsville Meadow Nursing Home.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
