Funeral services for George D. Flickner, 87, of Corydon, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of New Albany, a Louisville Firefighter for 40 years where he was a major district chief. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a member of The Salvation Army and was a Methodist.
Survivors include his son, George E. Flickner and his wife Donna; a daughter, Janet S. Dye and her husband William; three grandchildren, William G. Dye, Jordan M. and Kaitlyn C. Flickner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kist Flickner.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may go to the Alzheimers Association.
