Dennis Wayne "Red" Smith, 65, of New Albany, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
He was born July 31, 1947 to Paul and Ester Smith in Tell City. He worked at the old Clark gas station in New Albany and as a maintenance man at Floyd Memorial Hospital and as a volunteer for the New Albany Police Department. Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie "Dodie" Smith; son, Joseph Smith; daughters, Amy Smith, Marie "Toni" Sprayberry and Marissa Smith; brother, Mark Smith; sister, Kathy Carr; and grandchildren, Alexis, Joanna, Jarred Smith, Ian, Haley and Chloe Sprayberry.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at Spring Valley Funeral Home, New Albany.
