Funeral services for Ramona Joan (Thompson) Crady, 81, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Graceland Baptist Church, New Albany, with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens. She died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Joan was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Pembroke, Ky., to the late George B. Thompson & Fanny Mae (Hendricks) Mitchell. She was united in marriage on Sept. 22, 1950, to Charles Gordon Crady and shared 58 loving years together, until his death in 2009. Joan was a very hard worker all of her life. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to go camping and enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Shopping, going to yard sales, dining and traveling with her daughter and son-in-law were some of her favorite past times, but her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was anxiously waiting the birth of her first great-great-grandbaby in August.
Survivors include her three children, Robby Crady, Kathy Roydes and her husband Gary and Ronnie Crady; brother, Robert Thompson and his wife Delores; sister, Nita Gervin and her husband Al; five grandchildren, Tammy Blayton and her husband Bubba, Ted Mann and his wife Laise, Joy Bline and her husband Phillip, Jacob Crady and Matthew Crady; 10 great-grandchildren, Trent Galbreath and his wife Morgan, Trevor, Tabetha and Blake Blayton, Zack, Cory, Tyler and Skyler Mann, and Makenzie and Hunter Bline; and a host of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany.
