A memorial reception and celebration of life service for Laura Diann Rodriquez, 55, of New Albany, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. She died Saturday Feb. 9, 2013, at the Green Valley Care Center, New Albany, surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 25, 1957, in Louisville, to Ralph Rodriquez and Betty Maxine Brock, and was a printer at several printing companies for many years in the Louisville area.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Betty Maxine Lambert Brock and George Brock; sisters, Sharon Shope and husband, Wayne, and Rhonda Collins and husband, Jack; brother-in-law, Chet Ballew Sr.; nephew, Chet Ballew Jr.; nieces, Natalie Bennett, Rachel Bielefeld, and Rebecca Hardesty; great nieces, Breanna Bielefeld and Alexandria Gatton; and her niece dogs, Angel, Taffy, Nikki, Muffin, Heidi, Maggie, Bella, Roxie, Boo and Buttons
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph; grandparents, James Mack Lambert, Clyde and Marie Collins, and Rosa Aguilar. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family, pets, and many friends.
Cremation was chosen.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the loving staff at Floyd Memorial Hospital that continually cared for Laura throughout the years during her many hospital stays.
We could not have asked for a better group of people to care for her. We also want to acknowledge the love and support extended to us by Kim and Tammy and others from VistaCare Hospice and Green Valley Care Center for their support in the short time she was there. In lieu of flowers that expressions of sympathy may be made to the family.
