Funeral services celebrating the life of Frances M. Oakes, 87, of New Albany, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
She was the former Frances M. Brown, a member of Psi Otes, the New Albany Country Club, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at Indiana University, the Friendship Spinners and St. Mark’s United Church of Christ where she was active with the Prayer Shawl.
Survivors include her husband, Robert T. Oakes; her daughter, Lynne Oakes; two sons, Randy Oakes and his wife, Missy, and Douglas Oakes and his wife, Gail; and seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brianne, Nicholas, Jeananne and Callie Oakes, Remy Richard and his wife, Lauren, and Jennifer Gream, and their father, Wayne.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s United Church of Christ Logos Fund.
