Mount Vernon, Ill. — Funeral services for Allison Lorene Pfaff, 82, of Mount Vernon, Ill., will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Sunday, March 21, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye, with the Rev. Randy Sells officiating. She died at 1:07 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born April 1, 1927, in English, to Everett Temple and Bernice Myrtle (East) Enlow. She married Eugene Pfaff on April 27, 1946, in Princeton. She attended Milltown School in Milltown, was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Birdseye Chapter 590 and was a longtime member of Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon — where she served in the food pantry program for 24 years and was treasurer of her Sunday school class. She was a member of the Senior Circle and the High 12.

She is survived one sister, Ethel Jean Vaughn, of New Albany; one brother, Estel Eugene Enlow, of Panama City, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Helen Abell, of Birdseye; three nieces, Ann Deel, of Birdseye, Ava Gehlhausen, of Ferdinand, and Anita Louise Hall, of Frankfort, Ky.; and one nephew, Gary Wayne Vaughn, of New Albany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Minnie Grace Enlow, who helped raise her; and her husband, Eugene, who died Dec. 29, 1994.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service today.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Vernon Central Christian Church food pantry program of the Order of the Eastern Star.
