GEORGETOWN — A funeral mass for Frank J. Butler, 79, of Georgetown, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, with the Rev. Mike Hilderbrand as the celebrant. Burial will follow at the church’s cemetery. He died Friday, March 19, 2010, at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born Sept. 17, 1930, the son of James Henry and Catherine Knapp Butler. He was a retired owner and operator of a service station in Georgetown for 17 years, was a school bus driver and a Korean Army Veteran. He was a former member of the Louisville Rose Society, the American Rose Society and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Smith Butler, of Georgetown; one son, Al Butler and wife Marie (Happel), of Floyds Knobs; two daughters, Karen Flynn and wife Mike, of Corydon, and Kathy Turner and husband, Steve, of Floyds Knobs; one brother, Joseph Butler, of Louisville; four grandchildren, Lisa Reynolds and husband Luke, Tyler, Morgan and Erin Butler; and three great-grandchildren, Heidi, Nolan and Corey Reynolds.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Also, there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given to The Home of the Innocents in Louisville.
