Maurice ‘Bud’ Kannapel

73; of Louisville

A  funeral Mass for Maurice “Bud”  Kannapel, 73, of Louisville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery, Louisville. He died   peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in New Albany to Margret Burgess Kannapel and Maurice F. Monty Kannapel. He lived his life in New Albany, until he married the love of his life, Diann. He retired from Local 107⁄502 and went to work for the city of Louisville as chief plumbing inspector, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 491⁄2 years, Diann; his daughters, Julie Stuart and her husband, Jay, and Terri Albert and her husband, Rab; a special son, Todd; the lights of his life, his special grandchildren, Matt and Alyssa Albert, Phoebe Faust, Bill and Pat Rogers, Erick and Debbie Faust and Lynn Faust; and countless nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his stepfather, James “Pop” Robinson.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southwest Development Center (Todd's Workshop), Mass of the Air or Hosparus of Louisville.
