A funeral Mass for Dora Ann Huth LaDuke, 44, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, (new church) with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1968, to Myron Eugene and Carolyn Sue Jerrell Huth. She was a 1986 graduate of Floyd Central High School where she played with the Lady Highlanders softball team. She then went on to graduate from Jefferson Community College to become a registered nurse and received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Southeast. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, the grants committee with the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She had a gift of working with stain glass and loved spending time with her dogs, Lady & Perdy, and her cat, Simba. Battling Leukemia since 1999, she had a love for helping others that were going through the same journey. She touched so many lives through her acts of selflessness and her caring heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Casey LaDuke; daughter, Sydney Nicole LaDuke; parents, Myron and Sue Huth; brother, Mark Huth and his wife, Jenny; sisters, Lisa Montgomery and Myra Huls and her husband, Randy; nieces and nephews, Emily Huth and her husband, Broderick, Tabby Foreman, Kristy Kerr Hartfield, Hayley Montgomery, Bruce Dowell, Robin Dowell, Seth Huls and Cody Huls.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Art and Neila Jerrell, and George and Frances Huth.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany. Visitation Saturday will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at the church.
