A memorial service for Wilburn Arnold “Mac” McMichael, 85, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at St.Mark’s United Church of Christ in New Albany. He died Tuesday, July 5, 2012, at Lifestyle Adult Care Facility in Clarksville.
He was an Army veteran, having served in WWII and had retired as leadman from Rohm-Haas Chemical. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ and the American Legion and was former Elk of the Year at the Jeffersonville Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jeane C. McMichael, of Jeffersonville; a son, Bruce W. McMichael and his wife, Kathy, of Middletown, Ky.; a daughter, Beerly Jean Coulter and her husband, Ralph, of Jeffersonville; a brother, Sherman McMichael and his wife, Jo, of Harrodsburg, Ky.; a sister, Rachel Lathram, of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; five grandchildren, Daniel Lee Lanksford, Tech. Sgt. Ralph Steven Coulter, Kelly Lynn, Alex Brennen and Kaitlyn Rose McMichael; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Lee McMichael and his parents, Cleo and Nellie C. McMichael.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Mark’s United Church of Christ.
Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville is in Charge of arrangements.
