Funeral services for Mike Tackett, 47, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan Health Heart Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wis.
He was a major, District One, at Sellersburg Volunteer Fire Department, worked for Gohmann Asphalt for 14 years, Jim O’Neal Ford for 11 years and was a member of Faith Harvest Church in Greenville.
Survivors include his mother, Anita Tackett; wife, Laurie Beal-Tackett; sons, Evan Tackett, Benjamin Tackett and Justin Hoke; daughters, Chloe Tackett and Shelby Tackett and brother, Chris Tackett. He was a mentor to Brian Demas and all of Sellersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shirl Tackett.
Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
