Funeral services for Lillian Esther Knowles, 88, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Providence Retirement Home, New Albany.
She was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Spring Lake Township, Ill. She was a retired secretary with the U.S. Census Bureau and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Jeffersonville.
Survivors include her sons Mark A. Knowles and his wife, Debbie, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Michael S. Knowles and his wife, Angie, of McAlister, Okla., Dale R. Knowles and her former daughter in-law, Rosie of New Albany; daughters Sharon R. Knowles-Larkin and her husband, Crawford, of Costa Mesa, Calif., Brenda K. Knowles Schulte and her husband, Scott, of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William A. Knowles and her parents James G. and Dica Mae Davis.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
