Funeral services for Dorothy Jean “Jeanie” Palmer, 63, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Joshua Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 426 S. 15th St., Louisville. She died Friday, June 29, 2012, at home surrounded by her family.
She was retired from the Louisville Police Department after 27 years. She was a member of Joshua Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Myrtle Baltimore and her husband, William, Wilma Smith, Ella Kavanaugh and her husband, William, Grace Palmer; brothers, George P. Palmer Sr., and his wife, Bessie, Willie D., and Floyd J. Palmer and his wife, Brenda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Poston Palmer, a sister Mildred Palmer and one brother, Andrew Palmer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9.m. Friday, at the church.
G.C. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
