Funeral services for Mattie Lee Oliver, 89, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Saint James Victory Temple COGIC, 555 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville, with burial in Westhaven Cemetery, New Albany. She died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Lincoln Hills Health Care Center, New Albany.
She was born Jan. 24, 1933 to Zeke and Ella Mae Posey in Gulf Port, Miss. She was married to Guy F. Oliver for more than 50 years. She was employed by Floyd Memorial Hospital environmental services for more than 30 years. She was president of the usher board at Saint James Victory Temple COGIC and also a treasure of the church.
She is survived by her sons, Gary, Terry, and Ricky Oliver and Guy Oliver and his wife, Lisa; her mother-in-law: Ms. Lena Hall; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Ruth Virginia Oliver; and a granddaughter, Shernita Oliver.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the church.
Spring Valley Funeral Home, New Albany, is entrusted with arrangements.
