Funeral services for Frieda E. Melcher, 86, of New Albany, will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, in Batesville, Ark.
She was the former Frieda Keach, a native of New Albany, and a member of Graceland Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Jo Himelrick; four sons, Robin Melcher and his wife, Agnes, Carl D. Melcher, David E. Melcher and William C. Melcher; a sister, Juanita Gilpin; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Melcher; parents, Corwin B. Keach and Irene Porter; a daughter, Carolyn Baker and a brother, Floyd Keach.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Graceland Baptist Church.
