A celebration of life for Doris Smith Warder, 88, of New Albany, will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, 918 Mt. Tabor Road, New Albany, and continue at the American Legion Post, 412 N. New Albany St., Sellersburg. She died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was retired from Kurfees Coating & Paint and was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include three children, John Warder Jr. and his wife, Donna, Nancy Peppers, and Russ Warder; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Jane Sumner Stone; and nephews, Phil Sumner and his wife, Jessica, and Dennis Sumner and his wife, Louise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Poston Palmer, a sister Mildred Palmer and one brother, Andrew Palmer.
