A Mass of Christian burial for Catherine Mary Koetter, 93, of Floyds Knobs, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs. She died Friday, March 2, 2012.
Catherine was born to Theodore and Anna (Goedeker) Trindeitmar in Starlight. She was one of 11 children. Catherine married her beloved husband Bernard H. Koetter on Oct. 22, 1940. Catherine was the devoted mother of nine children. She was a warm, loving, caring and gracious mother with a quiet strength and deep faith. She had a wonderful smile that was given to everyone and would light up a room.
Survivors include her children Ted (Tyleaigh) Koetter, Ron (Charlotte) Koetter, Carol (Ed) Johnson, Joe (Linda) Koetter, Steve (Donna) Koetter, Msgr. Paul Koetter, Kevin (Janet) Koetter, Sister Mary Ann Koetter, OSB and Bernie (Jeri) Koetter. She was also the proud grandmother of 24 and great-grandmother of 18.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; daughter-in-law Teresa (Lally) Koetter; her great grandson Charles Koetter; and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with rosary said at 7:30 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Home, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
Contributions may be made to the Sisters of Saint Benedict at Our Lady of Grace Monastery and St. Paul’s Hermitage, or St. Mary’s of the Knobs Catholic Church.
