Funeral services for Lawrence E. “Herb” Saunders, 55, a native of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Legacy Funeral Center, Jeffersonville, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his home in Jacksonville, Fla.
He leaves to cherish Dhom Saunders and a daughter, Gabriel Saunders, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a special companion, Patricia Lamar; a God-daughter, Lisa Sinclair; and three God-grandsons, Julian and Cummings Jacobs and Craig Sinclair; his mother, Catherine Saunders, of Jeffersonville; six brothers, Edward Heston and his wife, Mary, Vernon Saunders and his wife, Karen, Walter Saunders Jr. and his wife, Yolanda, and Claude Saunders, all of Jeffersonville, Curtis Wells, of Clarksville, and Christopher Chamber, of New Albany; four sisters, Sheila Harris and her husband, Richard, of Detroit, Vanessa Saunders, of Clarksville, Valerie Munden, of Orlando, Fla., and Angela Chambers, of New Albany; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
