Funeral services for Betty Windell, 85, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at E. M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She retired as a bookkeeper and office manager at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Jeffersonville. Our eternally young mother took on her cancer dianosis at the age of 84 with the same courage, tenacity, grace, and faith as she did in all things. We understand it’s by the grace of God that we had our mother with all her vitality for as long as we did. It brings us serene peace to know that she was met in heaven by our father, her mother and father, her step-mother and her brother. And above all, by Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Windell and wife, Terry, of Jeffersonville; daughters, Janet Hubbard of Miami, Fla., and Karen Pritchard and husband, Tom, of Jeffersonville; grandchildren Scott Pritchard, Lisa Pritchard, Christy Hogan Howard, and Eddie Windell; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel B. Windell, father, Oscar Gleitz, mother, Georgia Gleitz, stepmother, Wilma Gleitz, and brother Jay Gleitz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
