Mary Ann Sanders

75; of Clarksville

Funeral services for Mary Ann Sanders, 75, of Clarksville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Clarksville, with burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was a retired registered nurse after 35 years of service at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister, the Cursillo prayer group, Mt. Saint Francis Ladies Guild and volunteered her time at the Community Kitchen.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles A. Sanders; four children, Charles “Chuck” Sanders Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Knoxville, Tenn., Donna Kokojan and her husband Chris, of Clarksville, Michelle Prentice and her husband, Billy, of Bardstown, Ky., and Anthony “Tony” Sanders, of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Betsy Loveland, of Jeffersonville, and Cathy Graninger and her husband, Chuck, of Borden; sister-in-law, Imelda Smith, of Clarksville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Becky Smith; and a brother, George Smith.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church or the Community Kitchen. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jessica, Vickie, Joyce, Brenda and Mary for being such wonderful caregivers.
