Richard Lee Kopp

80; of Summerville, S.C.

Funeral services for Richard Lee Kopp, 80, of Summerville, S.C., will be at 4 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Knightsville United Methodist Church, Summerville, S.C., with entombment to follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens in Summerville.  He died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Summerville Medical Center. 

Richard was born on Dec. 14, 1931, in Jeffersonville, son of the late Charles William Kopp and Helen Laura (Schaper) Kopp.  He served in the United States Navy and retired after 22 years of service. He was owner of Kopp Enterprises, Inc. and was an OTR truck driver for 18 years.  He was also a 32nd degree Mason. 

Surviving in addition to his wife Joan are two sons,  Richard Kopp, Jr., of Mesa, Ariz., and Kevin Kopp and his wife Jeannie, of Summerville; a daughter, Brianna Kopp, of Summerville; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Kopp and Louis Kopp, both of Indiana; and his two beagle dogs, Susie & Sandy.  

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, S.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knightsville United Methodist Church, 1505 Central Ave., Summerville, SC  29483.
