Funeral services for David Madison Jenkins, 77, of Bethlehem, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Grayson Funeral Home, New Washington, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. He died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was born March 15, 1935, in Bethlehem the son of Ulysses Grant and Mary Bell Head Jenkins. He was retired from ICI of Americas and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dell Harvey Jenkins; son, Gary Purlee and his wife Betty, of New Washington; daughters, Mary Jane Weddle and her husband Barry, of Bethlehem, Kathy Sizemore and her husband Kenneth Sr., of Bethlehem, and Pauletta Barlow, of Jeffersonville; brothers, Ben Jenkins, of Madison and Ulysses “Dutch” Jenkins, of Hibernia; grandchildren, Brandon Weddle, Kenneth Sizemore, Jr. and his wife Annie, Kimberly Franklin and her husband Stephen, Amanda Barlow, Jeff Purlee and his wife Reagan, Brandy Grigsby and her husband Ryan and Tiffany Kelley and her husband Greg; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Georgia, Elijah, Khrystal and Evan Franklin, Raqueal Henderson, Emily Purlee, Presley and Hudson Grigsby and Xavier Kelley.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
