Funeral services for Doris Jean Ammons, 70, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Spring Valley Funeral Home, new Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1941 in New Albany, to Menlow and Mary Jones. She had served as a waitress for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Ammons, Sr.; sons: Robert J. Ammons Jr., and Carl Edward Ammons; daughters, Theresa Brewer, and Sue Ammons; brother, Ted Cox; sisters, Betty Kemp, and Thea Felz; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.. Monday, and after 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
