Funeral services for John Marc Elbert, 64, of Clarksville, will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with full military honors. He died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born Jan. 24, 1948 to the late Sidney M. and Juel G. Rice Elbert in New Albany. He was a proud veteran that served in the United States Air Force. He loved his family and especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Marlene Richards Elbert; six children, John Elbert and his wife, Amanda, Darlene Turner, Mary Jean Elbert, Loretta Jane Jaramillo and her husband, Carlos, Christopher Scott Elbert and his wife, Nikki, and Kevin Elbert and his wife, Carrie; two sisters, Judy Tompkins and her husband, Larry, and Angela Nelson and her husband, James; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Elbert, and his sister, Barbara Lester.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
