Funeral services for John “Mike” Forman, 77, of Georgetown, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with private burial to follow at Byrneville Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home.
A jack-of-all-trades, he spent many years working as a carpenter. He was a member of Georgetown Christian Church and enjoyed many holiday seasons portraying Santa Claus in the local community. He was a friend to all he met and truly loved the family of whom he was so proud.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1935, in Syracuse, N.Y., to the late John H. and Lelan C. (Chilson) Forman.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Virginia L. (Lori) Forman; children, Brenda Shaw and her husband Garry, Cathy Wicke and Thomas Forman and his wife Sherry; sister, Beverly Forman; brother and sister-in-laws, Billy, James Lori, Peggy Carmichael and Carolyn King; grandchildren, John L. Shaw and his wife Christina, Ben Shaw and his wife Dee, Sulena Zollman and her husband Eric, John H. Forman and his wife Jamie, David Lee Forman (Tommie Leann) and Jeff Wicke (fiancée, Amanda); and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
