Funeral services for Freda W. Smith, 74, of Charlestown, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April, 6, at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Old Salem Cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Sellersburg Health & Rehab.
She was born on June 5, 1937 to Carl Ernest and Nellie Ruth Wallace Miller in Jefferson County, Ky. She was a switchboard operator for University Hospital and Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Smith; son, Rodger Smith, of Scottsburg; daughter, Rhonda Smith, of Otisco; stepdaughters, Jeanette DiBenedetti, of Augusta, Maine, and Pat Little, of Melbourne, Fla.; brother, Ralph Miller, of Jeffersonville; sisters, Faye McCombs, of Clarksville, and Lee Burt, of Jeffersonville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
