Funeral services for Irvin Leon Fordyce, 83, of New Albany, originally from Salem, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial at a later date at New Albany National Cemetery. He died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.
He was a firefighter for crash rescue while serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and a long-time employee of Kimball Office Furniture. He had a great love for fishing and his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Fordyce; his children, Stephen and Richard Fordyce; stepchildren, Linda, Lisa, Annette, Janette, Jacqueline, Tamara and Timothy Witt; 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles and Emmet Fordyce.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
