Funeral services for Howard “Truman” Eddings, 80, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Legacy Funeral Center in Jeffersonville, with burial in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.
Truman was born in Russellville, Ky., and served the United States Army on the front lines of the Korean War. After proudly serving his country, Truman owned and operated Eddings Marathon for 20 years on Market Street in Jeffersonville. He never met a stranger and was generous to his family and friends. Truman loved to spend his retirement doing lawn work, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Eddings; two children, Susan Paxton and her husband Glenn, and Mitch Eddings and his wife Marva; sister, Lula Allen; and grandson, Brad Reese.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Eddings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
