Phillip ‘Phil’ Money

63; of Sellersburg

Private funeral services for Phillip “Phil” Money, 63, of Sellersburg, will be held at a later date. He died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.

He was born on June 25, 1949, in New Albany, and was a graduate of New Albany High School in 1967. He worked 18 years at Jeffboat, and worked 23 years at REMC where he retired. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing pool and cards with his many friends, lifelong IU fan. He was strictly a Chevrolet man. He was a member of the American Legion Post and Moose Lodge of Sellersburg. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ellen Money; daughter, Jennifer  Hunt and her husband, Dave, of Louisville; son, Jeremy Money and his wife, Kerri, of Sellersburg; grandchildren, Kyleigh Nolan, Ella, Kolton and Charlotte Money; many nieces and nephews; and many, many good friends, especially at the Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Webster and Geneva Money; and two brothers, Howard and Chester Money.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg.

Cremation was chosen. A private service will be held at a later date for the burial of his ashes.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association as well as Kosair Children’s Hospital.
