A memorial service for Ava Doreen Callahan, 56, of New Albany, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany. She died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Norton Hospital, Louisville.
She was a native of Louisville, an employee of LG&E and a member of Northside Christian Church, New Albany. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, vacationing at the beach and most of all spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors include daughters, Amy Thornton and her husband, Bryan, April Hofelich and her husband, David, and Angela Mason and her husband, Chris; her mother, Alice Ruth Callahan; grandchildren, Cole, Ethan, Drew, Jackson, Emma, and Abigail; sisters, Rita Bass and her husband, Hugh, Debbie Garner and her husband, Bob, Donna Herman and her husband, Rob, and Dana Lang and her husband, Darrell; and brothers, Jim Callahan and his wife, Marianne, and Richie Callahan and his wife, Sharon.
She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Callahan.
Memorial visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
