Karl ‘Bill’ William Booher Jr.

68; of Albany

A  memorial service for Karl ‘Bill’ William Booher Jr.,  68, of Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at American Legion Post, Albany. He died Nov. 20, 2011, at Munson Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Karl and Virginia Reedy Booher. He served his country with the United States National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He supported and worked for the American Legion in Albany, for many years. Prior to that he was involved in the family farm supply business known as T.E. Booher & Sons in Albany. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motor Cycle and fishing. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping people. He was very patriotic. "Only in America" was one of his favorite sayings.

Survivors include his sister Lynne Buday and her husband, Chris, of Kalkaska, Mich.; brother, Tim Booher, of Staples, Minn.; nephews, Andy, Jon and Nick Buday;  niece Sherri Hoover; and nephew, Kurt Booher. Although he had no children, he was always considered to be a special uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Brian Booher.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion in Albany.

Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at a later date with full military honors provided by VFW Cherryland Post 2780.

 Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Traverse City, Mich., is in charge of arrangements.
