Funeral services for Walter P. Goodman, 85, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany, with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenville. He died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Big Clifty, Ky. He was retired from the old W. M. Cissell Company in Louisville, was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association and First Baptist Church, New Albany. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Walter G. Goodman and his wife, Denise E., of Greenville, Darrel L. Goodman and his wife, Debra A., of Bloomington, and Vincent C. Goodman and his wife, Connie S., of New Albany; five brothers, Harold Goodman, Kenneth Goodman, Howard Goodman, Doyle Goodman and Teddy Gene Goodman; two sisters, Mary Martin and Dorothy Barnes; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Louise Goodman; parents, Clive and Sybil Goodman; and brother, Jimmy Goodman.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the American Leukemia Society in Memory of Walter & Goldie Goodman.
