Paul Howard Hayes

A funeral Mass for Paul Howard Hayes, 62, of Henryville, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Henryville, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.

He was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Sunfish, Ky. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Henryville, was a retired supervisor for Owens Illinois Plastic Company in Vandalia, Ill., and he served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Pullen Hayes, whom he married in 1982; daughter, Connie Mull and her husband, Craig, of Henryville; son, Tony and his wife, Dawn Lewis, of Jeffersonville; sisters, Theresa Weyer, of Ferdinand, Lucy Cullins, of Salem, Angie Cullins, of Pekin, Helen Reynolds, of Crothersville, Lucille Warren, of Clarksville and Lois Bridges, of Crothersville; brothers, Father Maurice Hayes, of Mt. St. Francis, Tom Hayes, of Cloverport, Ky. and Pat Hayes, of Scottsburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Hayes and Ruth French Hayes; brothers, Tony and Pius Hayes; and sisters, Ethel Justice and Charlene Olivastro.

Visitation will be at R. D. Pyke Funeral Service, Henryville, from 1 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m., Thursday.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, c/o P.O. Box 20, Henryville, 47126.
