A funeral Mass for Mary Katherine Fisher Stumler, 91, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
She was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs where she had been active in the Christian Mothers’ Club and volunteered to prepare the church for Mass. She was retired from the Colgate Palmolive Company. She was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Corydon, to the late Walter A. and Gay Frederick Fisher.
Survivors include her children, Irvin Stumler and his wife, Patricia, Diana Receveur and her husband, Dr. Robert Receveur, all of Floyds Knobs, and Ronald Stumler and his wife, JoAnn, of Greenville; sisters, Eva Libs, Millie Stiller, both of Floyds Knobs, Pat Armstrong and her husband, Robert, of New Salisbury, Phyllis Fouts, Sharon Stiner and her husband, Jerry, Maurice Fisher and his wife, Elnore, all of Corydon, and Eddie Fisher and his wife, Diana, of Florida; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Stumler; granddaughter, Krista Receuver; brother, Walter A. Fisher; and sister, Neva Stiller.
Visitation will be at Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, from noon to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., Thursday
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School.
